In March of the year 2000, a girl named Meredith was born in Haverford, Pennsylvania to an heir and alternative health practitioner by the name of Richard Silva and his wife Brenda.  As early as age two, this girl showed an array of extraordinary traits - namely, the ability to see life within inanimate objects as well as precognitive abilities.  However, her presence often had an adverse physical affect on many individuals, including her own mother.  Richard Silva came to the conclusion that she was an important figure in a series of prophecies from an Eastern European folk religion centered around a race of interdimensional beings known as the Zelishem.  This religion believed this alien race was the key to mankind's enlightenment, but only if mankind prepared itself sufficiently.  If not, the Zelishem would bring about humanity's destruction.

 

As Meredith grew older, her abilities strengthened and accumulated, becoming more and more difficult for her to control.  The Silvas enlisted the help of a Zelishemite priestess from Ukraine by the name of Alina Galenko in order to assist Meredith in actualizing her destiny as the key to mankind's ultimate spiritual awakening.  Richard Silva and his colleagues have succeeded in building a following of the Zelishemite faith within the United States, but they have also ensured that salvation comes with a price.  Has Meredith come into her role by destiny, or by design?
